Experiments with reflection

Here Ive experimented with reflection. Mostly of myself showing my reflection
through windows, car windows, hallways windows and mirrors.

reflection

This image basically describes how I'm going to present my
work. Using pairs of glasses with reflections of images iv
chosen to glue in to the lens of the glasses. Mainly images
that I have interests in that show reflection with in the object
by who ever is wearing the glasses. Which shows my interests
and likings. It could be anything from a wall of graffiti art to
a picture of my mates.

Research on reflection through mirrors

REFLECTION WITH MIRRORS
PLAIN SURFACES

multiple self-portrait reflected in mirrors, 1915-6. Photograph

Here iv chosen to research about two different ways of reflection.
Through mirrors and plain objects which show your reflection.
Reflection is the change in direction of a wavefront at an interface
between two different media so that the wavefront returns into the
medium from which it originated. Common examples include the
reflection of light, sound and water waves. What I like about this is
that there are many ways you could show identity and self portraits
using your reflection and the objects that surround us in our daily lives.

RRAW: Free writing about a image

Here Ive chosen this picture to free write about. Why I like it because it says a lot.
I see a lot of colour, I enjoy the thoughts of history when I see the flax made  in the
background. Tells me a lot about the style and type of design. Could also drop a
hint of what nationality she is. I like how she's sitting there smiling holding her cat.
She really reminds me of my nana. She also does make bags out of flax. Reminds
me of younger days, when I use to sit beside her as she braided her flax then leave
them out to dry. I relate very much to this image.

Researching on logos

Here Ive chosen this pics to free write about. I chose this picture
because i enjoyed the colours used, also because the lead band
singer was on the news recently. Random thought I just had there.
In this picture Iv noticed the group name being repeated in
different styles, something I enjoy doing, repetitive style
of the same word or logo. I think the promoter for this band
clearly shows a straight forward message to who ever is viewing
that the personalities of these artists are colourful, meaning
in some parts they have split personalities, Also seeing
the pics of the guy screaming gives a kind of sense  that this
concert is going to blow your mind. Aimed for rocking rollers.
Punked out teens and who enjoy there music.I like this
advertising.

Rraw week 5a Political Art

STREET ART

Mostly created in public locations, usually unsanctioned artwork executed outside
of the context of traditional art venues. To me street art tells a story, about the pain,
suffering, struggle, strife, history of a public community or as a individual. Many
used this visual style as communication between artist, painters and graffiti artists.
Some to show aprreciation of inspirational idols such as great musicians, political
movements, dead presidents, traditional backgrounds, gang affiliation, a race, pop
art and many more. Growing up in south auckland a city very much inspired by
american hip hop and style, I saw a lot of graffiti art around, posted up in alleyways,
shops, abandoned houses and buildings. I can say for my self that as I grew, street
art became apart of me. Places and other cites became a fascination because of
how I was used to seeing graffiti all over from where I was to where I saw not one
drop of paint, and this to me really made me miss home when ever I leave the
south bound. Just the way the pieces of work defined great lines and curves
when using spray cans. A very popular habit passed down by generations of  using
spray cans to vandalise or show some form of style. These days I think if I was
the mayor of a state Id like to see every shop sign, billboard, banner have this
kind of style incorporated in the design of font in them. Id spread art like butter
on my toast, and i like my toast covered. If I had my own art Id have them
posted up in dairy's and covers for doors, all over the motorway for ongoing
traffic jammers to view as they wait patiently in ques. Id use club rooms to get
my messages out there to the public, for example if I where to promote a
drink driving message for all the party poppers and night lifers, Id like to use
hallways of where people enter and exit after a night of drinking. Where i could paint
up pictures of fast food restaurants and take aways logos for them to look at as they
enter or exit and hopefully change there state off mind by making them
go  sober up, switching there thoughts about drinking more to
actually bringing up food topics to where they'll get hungry and go eat at one
of the fast-food restaurants logos they saw on the walls.

Experiments with Texture, Line and pattern

EXPERIMENTS

Here Ive taken a photo that shows not only a lining but a triangle pattern moving out in the
distants.

As you see in too the picture frame you'll notice a visual line created by a row
of cars.

In this close up the texture to me looks and feels crispy, dry and very fragile
if touched personally.

Heres a horizontal line made by power lines.

FRENDEN : artist research on illustration.mundo.com

RAY FRENDEN

Here I've chosen three artworks that interest me. What I like about this top
pics is the colours, stands out to me and I also like cartoons, the way Ray
painted it really stands out, I like that the cartoon also shows emotions,
looks like a old angry monkey half man .

Again in this pics Ive chosen catches my attention, I like colours that stand out
and this pics stood out to me. I have a big liking in cartoons and different characters,
wether they are good or bad. Shows to me that this artist knows a lot of different
characters and shows meaning and emotions and thats how I can relate to this piece.

My last chosen pics was this piece, which was my favourite out of the three.
Why? Because faces to me tell the person who is viewing the piece a lot about
the artist and the way they express there art through out expressing there
emotions using characters. Usually people they know or famous comedians or
actors, cartoons or just people they like with unique ways of facial expressions.

Inspirational

My Dog

A big meaty, healthy, 3 year old family member named Laika. Name given by
my youngest brother. He stands at 2 and a half feet. Silent, playful, always seems
to uplift my sad and cloudy days. When ever my family is not around he's always there. His
silence and actions tell me a lot about his patients and personality if he were to be
a human being. He is first on alert as frontline security when it comes to been
guard dog, or put on duty when everyone leaves the house. We always arrive
to a untouched home as the neighbour hood I stay in has a great history of home
invasions and burglary. He inspires me in many ways to be a better person.
He's usually the the topic at the dinner table. At the table, mum always says
"Don't look at him, he's got his puppy eyes ". Always getting his way laika
ends up with a full tummy. To me personally, his silent ways, security ,
playful ways, patients, humour, really teaches me a lifetime lesson. Just from
knowing what he is capable of doing and what he can't do on his own.
It really makes me think and appreciate life more and not having his disadvantage
he has as an animal. As long as he's fed well, he won't  bother you.
Missing the sight of his cheerful wagging tail every morning always puts a
frown on my face. He is my inspiration and always will be apart of my family.

I hope the pound frees him soon.

Blog Statement

Id like to have on my blogger a record of all my researches
and experiments, also how I found my inspirations. Places
I've been too over the weekend and what I've found which
relates to my ideas on what to write about. A record of places
and people, recording of different experiences on a
particular topic of interest. Learn from mistakes made in previous
projects to hopefully one day master them.

Panaroma: Lens Based

 PANORAMA EXPERIMENT

We used photoshop to merge our four pictures taken separately to end up with
this finish project. A task we had to do in groups. Here you see my partners
Albert and Thomas. After taking pictures and uploading them to photoshop,
we watched a tutorial on youtube about Panorama and followed it to
make our own panoramas. Heres my finish project.
